Proper
cleaning of your Glock is the best thing you can do to keep the gun
looking good and functioning well for decades to come. Luckily, the
intelligent design of Glocks makes cleaning a relatively simple and, for
some, even pleasant experience.
Here at King Glock we choose to use Break Free's Powder Blast Solvent and CLP Lubricating Oil. Although you are free to use any products you choose, we do discourage the use of any solvent containing ammonia. The reason is due to the fact that ammonia dissolves copper, which is used in the nickel plating process GLOCK uses on its internal part. Any imperfections, scratches or pits in the nickel will allow any ammonia solvent to dissolve the copper base layer and cause premature brittleness and flaking.
